How Our Operation Works:

The Short Answer:

We connect campaign volunteers to biker-friendly candidates. When we help them during the campaign season, they help us during the legislative session.

It's a simple 3-step process:
1. Click on the white ELECTIONS tab at the top of the page, and scroll down to find your state (or one nearby).

2. Find a race near you, and click on the green candidate's name. This takes you to their campaign website.

3. Volunteer to help them, and let them know it's because they support helmet law repeal.
Then it's just a matter of showing up, even if only for one hour.

We are a network of campaign volunteers.

Bikers subscribe to our Legislative Alert system, and we notify them of important nearby races. And with each victory, we get one step closer to a biker-friendly majority in the state legislature.

We only help candidates that support repeal.

That's the cornerstone of bikers rights, and any candidate that opposes our right to decide is a nanny-crat. Party affiliation is not a consideration. And we only work in the tightest races. That way we know we make the most difference.

This isn't about talking ... it's about taking action.

And the only action that gets results is campaign work. Candidates need "Get Out The Vote" campaign volunteers to win. When bikers deliver votes, they have political power. And that's the only way we can take our rights back. Othewise we're just begging for them.

Frequently Asked Questions:

   1. Why is campaign work so important?

It takes a legislative majority to repeal the universal helmet law. So the most effective way to build that majority is therefore the best way to get it repealed. This chart shows why.

   2. How can I spread the word about RIDE2REPEAL.COM in my SMRO?

Newsletter articles are a good way to get SMRO members involved in campaign work. Here is a short article and a longer article about RIDE2REPEAL.COM that you can use.

   3. How does the whole thing work?

It all boils down to getting campaign volunteers to help biker-friendly candidates. One hour of volunteer work makes all the difference. This chart shows how.

Our Driving Principles:

Eliminate Waste. Our process needs the fewest number of bikers, and uses the least amount of their time. But we get the most results. We do this by driving cost ... in terms of time and effort ... out of the process.

Stay Focused. If it doesn't directly contribute to a legislative majority, we don't do it. And we don't get distracted by anything that takes our aim off-target.

Build Parnerships. We always keep the driver's seat available for any SMRO to prioritize races and endorse candidates. Our job is to support them. And by taking the lead, they help us.

Peak Performance. We picked the one thing that gets the most results: campaign work. This allows also allows us to specialize our process and fine-tune our operation.

Keep it Simple. The less complicated, the better. With fewer moving parts, there's less to break down.
